Transforming Lives at Respite Care of San Antonio
We would like to invite you to celebrate with us at Respite Care’s Celebration of Love & Children! Enjoy an evening of incredible success stories, learn more about the unique services Respite Care is offering in the community, and be one of the first to hear about what we are planning for the future!

Enjoy the convenience of traveling to the beautiful Witte Museum in Alamo Heights with car-to-door service and valet parking for all of our guests. Gala check-in is a breeze in the brand-new Dawson Family Hall.
Delight in the delicious passed hors d’oeuvres and open bar while enjoying the panoramic views of the historic San Antonio River and Broadway corridor. Peruse the silent and live auctions and bring home a surprise from the wine pull. Before our program, all guests will sit down to a three-course meal.
This year, we are honoring Claire Cavender McNab, who is not only a champion for women in the auto industry but is an incredibly active volunteer in San Antonio who stewards and truly embodies the mission of Respite Care.
Honoring Claire Cavender McNab
Claire Cavender McNab is employed in her Cavender Auto Family dealerships as the Partnership and Outreach Coordinator and has worked in various roles over the years in her family business. In her current role, she conducts new hire orientation, additional employee relations matters including employee appreciation actions, events, and community outreach opportunities. The Cavender Auto Family currently encompasses over 18 dealerships in Texas and Oklahoma.
Claire currently serves on the Cavender Auto Family Foundation Board, Development Committee for the San Antonio Botanical Gardens, and is a Board of Trustee for the Texas Biomedical Forum. She has served on committees for the Southwest School of Art, McNay Art Museum, The Contemporary at Blue Star, the DoSeum Children’s Museum, and Ballet of San Antonio and is active with the South Texas Blood and Tissue Center, SNIPSA, City Year of San Antonio, Respite Care of San Antonio, and United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County.
Claire married her high school sweetheart, Easton McNab, in 2018 and in 2021 they were blessed with their beautiful daughter, Isabella. They are also proud fur parents to their two Maltese/ Shih Tzus Hadley and Harper!

Our 2023 Emcee
Myra Arthur anchors the News at 6 weekday evenings on KSAT 12. She also reports and produces KSAT Explains, a weekly long-form segment covering a wide range of topics. Myra has worked for KSAT for 11 years after anchoring and reporting in Corpus Christi and Waco. She is a graduate of Ronald Reagan High School and Southern Methodist University and a proud mom to two beautifully busy boys.
The Invocation
The Rev. Beth Knowlton has enjoyed serving as the Rector of St. Mark’s since 2014. Beth has a passion for community life and was drawn to St. Mark’s by the commitment of its parishioners to live out its Core Vocation to Feed San Antonio with the Bread of Life through outreach, education, and the arts. She loves to preach, teach, and write reflections on how our spirituality informs our daily life. Beth is joyfully engaged in all aspects of parish life, from administration to pastoral visits.
This year’s LIVE AUCTION will be led once again by the legendary Tom T-Bone Bounds! One of the most exciting moments of the evening, T-Bone will entertain and delight as you have an opportunity to bid on exclusive items and experiences!
This year’s SILENT AUCTION is planned to be bigger and better than ever! Grab a cocktail from the open bar, peruse the many packages, and come home with a new treasure!

By donating, you help support general operations for the only licensed 24/7 Residential Children’s Home in Texas dedicated to caring for abused and neglected children with special needs and complex medical conditions. The gala also raises funds to provide day/night out sessions and developmental childcare with nursing care for children requiring daily medical treatments.
